Star Valley Health has deployed Access eForms eSignature Platform Solution for paperless & contactless patient intake in the hospital, or remotely on patient devices at home or in the car. The ability to create a paperless environment within the hospital will streamline patient throughput, save hard costs due to paper and scanning, and improve the patient experience through a more accurate and seamless intake process. The ability to extend patient forms outside of the hospital on patient devices will allow Star Valley to safely control patient throughput for instances when patient exposure is a risk, and to allow check-ins ahead of a visit.
Star Valley Health is a system of care encompassing a 22-bed acute care hospital, orthopedic surgical centers, and rehabilitation services, along with family care and specialty clinics. As a not-for-profit medical center with approximately 450 employees, Star Valley Health serves 13 communities in Northwest Wyoming approximately 70 miles outside of Jackson. The hospital recently broke ground on a new facility in May and the initial development totals 22,500 square feet of space. The first phase includes 12,500 square feet of space for family practice, laboratory, imaging, specialty clinic, and urgent care services.
The hospital using MEDITECH will be deploying Access eForms patient eSignature platform to eliminate paper forms throughout their registration department. The addition of the eSig platform will give Star Valley Health the ability to send forms externally and they will no longer have to print and scan forms back into the imaging system. The ability to extend electronic Pre-Registration forms to patients in advance of their visit will allow Star Valley Health to provide a truly contactless patient intake experience and save approximately 750,000 pieces of paper converting from a paper-based process. Access paperless solution gives patients the ability to electronically sign all Pre-Registration forms in the comfort of their own home in advance of their appointment. Allowing a patient to complete all necessary forms before their visit drastically decreases the time, they spend in the waiting room. Decreasing the amount of time, a patient spends in the waiting room also decreases the risk for disease exposure subsequently creating a check-in process that is safer and faster for both patients and clinicians.
